BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Sarah Brennan (Quincy/Notre Dame Acad.) was the first member of the Bentley University women's cross country team to cross the finish line during the New England Championships Saturday at Franklin Park.
Brennan was 117th overall, and eighth among Division II athletes, with a time of 19:04.66 over the 5,000-meter course. She improved on her 2013 time by 80 seconds and moved up in the standings by 91 places.
Also cracking the top 200 for the Falcons were a pair of freshmen, Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) and Caroline Conrad (Bedford, N.H./Bedford HS). Bartolotta was 193rd overall in 20:09.02 and Conrad followed three places and 4.45 seconds left.
Bentley placed fourth among seven Division II teams and was 35th of 39 overall.
Bentley will be back at Franklin Park Oct. 26 for the Mayor's Classic.
