  • AIC Snaps Bentley’s Win Streak at 16 as Falcons Suffer 1st Conference Loss

    The Bentley University women’s volleyball, the number two-ranked team in the NCAA Division II East Region, suffered its first loss in more than 50 days as the Falcons were taken down in four sets by American International College in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday night at the Butova Gym. Scores were 25-23, 19-25, 25-23 and 25-13.
  • Murphy, Milner with 10 Kills Apiece as NE10 Leaders Extend Streak to 16

    Senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School) and freshman Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS) each recorded ten kills as the Bentley University women’s volleyball stayed unbeaten in the Northeast-10 Conference and extended its winning streak to 16 with a 3-0 sweep of Adelphi University Friday night at the Dana Center. Scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19.

    Bentley University senior setter Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week for the third straight week and her teammate, freshman outside hitter Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS), was a repeat choice for NE10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week accolades.

    Four different players reached double figures in kills, with junior Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) leading the way with 14, and senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) recorded a career-high 51 assists¬¬ as streaking Bentley University posted a 3-1 win over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball Friday evening at the Nolan Gymnasium.

  • Bentley Student-Athletes Once Again Have Highest Graduation Rate in Division II

    For the third straight year, Bentley University is ranked number one nationally in the latest NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report, which was announced this week. Bentley, which shared the top spot in 2017, was the only institution to record an ASR of 99 for the second straight year. This marks the sixth straight year that Bentley has achieved an ASR of 97 or better and the ninth straight it was been above 90.

    Senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School) put down her 11th and 12th kills of the match for the final two points of the fourth set and a 3-1 Bentley University victory over Southern Connecticut State University in Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball Friday night at the Moore Fieldhouse. The scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-15 and 28-26.
  • Lopp Garners Northeast-10 Setter of the Week Honors

    Bentley University senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week for her outstanding performance in a pair of Falcon victories. She’s the first Falcon to receive the award since Alex Tator in October 2014.

    Senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhil School) put down a dozen kills and classmate Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) made six blocks as Bentley University extended its winning streak to 12 with a 3-1 victory over Assumption College Tuesday evening in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball at the Dana Center. The scores were 25-17, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-12.

    Senior setter Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) had her second outstanding performance of the week, amassing 43 digs, 11 digs and a career-high seven block assists as Bentley University made it 11 straight with a 3-1 win over Stonehill College Friday evening at Merkert Gymnasium. Scores were 26-24, 25-15, 16-25 and 25-19.

    Senior Mariana Boyer (Arvada, Colo./Broomfield HS) had ten kills without an error and sophomore Katie Rounds (McFarland, Wis./McFarland HS) followed with nine as Bentley University stretched its winning streak to nine with a 25-11, 25-19, 25-12 victory in Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.
  • 3-0 Sweep of Assumption Extends Bentley Streak to 8

    With seven different players amassing between four and seven kills, the winning streak for the Bentley University women’s volleyball grew to eight as the Falcons swept Assumption College in a non-conference match at Laska Gym Friday night. Scores were 25-21, 25-14 and 25-15.

    Down 11-8 in the fifth set, the Bentley University Falcons closed with seven unanswered points to defeat Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference women’s volleyball Tuesday night at Stoutenburgh Gym and extend their winning streak to seven matches. The scores were 25-21, 27-25, 23-25, 16-25 and 15-11.

    The Bentley University women’s volleyball team extended its streak of 3-0 victories to six with victories over Mercy College and American International College Saturday at Victory Gym. The Falcons soared past Mercy, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-19, and earned a 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 non-conference win over AIC.

    Sophomore middle blocker Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) hit .667 and finished with ten kills and four blocks as Bentley University posted its third straight three-set win in non-conference volleyball Tuesday night at the Dana Center. The scores against Post University were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15.

    Sophomore Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) had ten kills with a .471 hitting percentage and senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/Greenhill School) matched her in the kill column as Bentley University swept Franklin Pierce University, 3-0, in the finale of a triangular women’s volleyball match at the FPU Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. Scores were 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22.

    The Bentley University women’s volleyball team is one of 141 Division II programs from across the country that earned an AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year. It’s the sixth straight year that the Falcons have been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
