Waltham, Mass. – Senior Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and junior Stephanie Helin (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) of the Bentley University women's soccer team have been voted second team All-New England by the NEWISA.
Valente and Helin, both forwards, were Bentley's two leading scorers this season. They both scored a team leading six goals, while Helin added five assists for 17 points on the season, and Valente notched three assists for 15.
Valente's selection capped a bounce back season after she missed all of 2017 with an injury. In just three seasons, her 48 career points (17 goals, 14 assists) ranks 9th in the program's history.
Helin has been just as impactful in her three seasons. She's led the team in points the last two years, and is just outside the top 10 in career points with 40 so far.
The duo helped Bentley post a 7-6-3 overall record and a 6-6-2 mark in the Northeast-10.
