NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Elena Ochsenreither (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) had two goals in her final collegiate game, and freshman Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) scored twice in the 2nd half to lead Bentley to a 4-3 victory at Southern Connecticut to close out the season on Saturday afternoon.

Ochsenreither's first of the day inside four minutes gave Bentley an early lead, before the Owls equalized in the 9th minute, and the score stayed 1-1 heading to halftime.

The teams then erupted for five goals in the 2nd half. Ochsenreither struck for her second of the afternoon just after halftime, followed by Valente's first in the 56th minute to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead. Forward Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) had the assist on the Valente goal, giving her 20 points (8 goals, 4 assist) at the end of the season.

Southern fought back though with goals in the 64th and 69th minutes, the latter coming from forward Caroline Staudle to knot the game 3-3.

Bentley though responded strongly as Valente's strike in the 73rd minute, assisted by freshman Lauren Bean (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport), gave them the lead for good.

Junior goalkeeper Paige Laliberte (Gilford, N.H./Gilford) came on for the 2nd half and made two saves to earn the win.
