NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Jamie Grinavic (North Attleboro, Mass./North Attleboro) scored with just 43 seconds remaining to give the Bentley women's soccer team a season-opening 1-0 victory over Molloy on Friday afternoon at the Marriott Kickoff Classic.

Grinavic scored from just three yards out for the winning goal after getting on the end of a through ball from classmate Paige Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick).

Freshman goalie Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) earned the start for Bentley and came up big with five saves in 90 minutes, with three of the saves coming in the second half.

Freshman Peyton Kent (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) also had a shot on target for the Bentley offense, as they go to 1-0 on the new season.

The Falcons will look to make it two straight to open the season when they play the second match of the Kickoff Classic on Sunday against Dowling at 11:00 am.
