NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Kevin Williams (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) scored his 2nd goal of the season, but the Bentley University men's soccer team couldn't overcome Southern Connecticut in a 3-1 defeat on the road Tuesday night.
Williams scored in the 61st minute after he converted the rebound off a shot that was blocked. That got the Falcons to within 3-1, but they could not get any closer the remainder of the match. Williams previously scored at Saint Rose on Oct. 2.
Southern Connecticut took the lead on goals on the 15th, 21st and 48th minutes.
This was the first meeting between the two teams since last season's Northeast-10 Quarterfinal match, which Bentley won 3-2 last Nov. 3, to advance to the NE-10 semifinals.
Bentley will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Saint Anselm for a 1:00 pm match.
