Bentley Falls at Clarkson 5-1

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Clarkson University received goals from five different players as the Golden Knights defeated the Bentley hockey team 5-1 on Friday night in a non-conference game.

Clarkson improves to 3-2 with the win, while Bentley falls to 0-3.

Already leading 1-0 in the first period, Clarkson freshman defenseman David Pratt scored a short-handed goal at the 9:54 mark to give his team a 2-0 lead.

The Golden Knights essentially put the game away in the second period with two more goals, coming from freshman forward Matt Zarbo at 3:05 and junior forward Nick Tremblay at 11:32.

The Falcons got one back on the power play in the third period, as junior Jamie Nudy (West Chester, Pa./Choate Rosemary Hall) scored his first of the season at 3:37 with senior Dustin Cloutier (Berkley, Mich./Mahoning Valley Phantoms) and freshman Zach Ledford (Folsom, Calif./Wichita Falls Wildcats) on the assists.

Bentley couldn't get any closer however, and Clarkson finished the scoring at 17:12 on a goal by sophomore Adam Pawlick.

Junior goalie Paul Karpowich made 24 saves to earn the win for the Golden Knights.

The same two teams at back at it Saturday night for a 7:30 p.m. start from Cheel Arena.
