    Two key defensive performers on the Northeast-10 Conference champion Bentley University Falcons, senior Pete Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS) and sophomore Cedric Dashiell II (Buena Park, Calif./Buena Park HS), have been selected for the 2019 Division II-III All-New England team by the New England Football Writers.

    Senior wide receiver Drew Mahoney (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield Academy) surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the season with nine catches for 192 yards, senior defensive back Pete Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS) capped his standout career with a 40-yard pick-six and the Falcon defense posted its second straight shutout as the Bentley University Falcons rolled to a 38-0 Senior Day shutout of American International College Saturday afternoon.

    Bentley University senior linebacker Travis McGee (Lecanto, Fla./Lecanto HS) and junior tight end Pat Prendergast (Pierrefonds, Que./Loyola HS) have been selected for the 2019 Division II Academic All-District team for Super Region 1 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

    Pleasantville, N.Y. is the latest destination for the Bentley University football team which will be playing on the road Saturday for the fifth time in seven games this fall. Coming off a walk-off win at Stonehill College, Coach Bill Kavanaugh’s Falcons will be looking to make it two in a row when they take on Pace University.   • Buchanan’s 3rd Field Goal of 4th, with No Time Left, Gives Bentley 30-27 Win at Stonehill

    Senior Grant Buchanan (Holliston/Holliston HS) kicked his third field goal of the fourth quarter as time expired to give Bentley University a 30-27 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference football Saturday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium.
  • Bentley Student-Athletes Once Again Have Highest Graduation Rate in Division II

    For the third straight year, Bentley University is ranked number one nationally in the latest NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report, which was announced this week. Bentley, which shared the top spot in 2017, was the only institution to record an ASR of 99 for the second straight year. This marks the sixth straight year that Bentley has achieved an ASR of 97 or better and the ninth straight it was been above 90.

    Down 28 with a minute left in the third quarter at Multi-Purpose Stadium, the Bentley University Falcons ran off 28 unanswered points to forge a 42-42 tie before Assumption College claimed the Northeast-10 Conference victory, 45-42, on a 35-yard field goal in the first overtime.

    Following an impressive all-around effort against the University of New Haven that resulted in a 31-14 victory over the Northeast-10’s preseason favorite, the Bentley University Falcons will look to carry that momentum into this Saturday’s contest at Assumption College.     Senior Will Sheriffs (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) returned an interception for a touchdown on the first play of the game, junior QB Stephen Sturm (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley HS) amassed 294 yards total offense, senior receiver Drew Mahoney (West Suffield, Conn./ Suffield Academy) caught 11 balls for 146 yards and the defense pitched a shutout over the final 55 minutes as Bentley University defeated the University of New Haven, 31-14, in Northeast-10 Conference football Friday night at Bentley.
