    Campbell University transfer quarterback Jayson Demild (Sayreville, N.J.) ran for two touchdowns and passed for a go-ahead TD in the third quarter as American International College scored in every quarter to upend Bentley University, 28-23, in non-conference college football Saturday afternoon at Abdow Field.

    Despite 131 rushing yards by junior Andrew Brazicki (Franklin Park, N.J./ St. Thomas Aquinas HS) and five takeaways, the Bentley University Falcons came up short when a last-minute 30-yard touchdown by redshirt freshman Ja’Den Mckenzie (Morton, Pa.) gave West Chester University, the 22nd-ranked team in Division II, a season-opening 14-7 non-conference win at Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.

    Senior defensive back Pete Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS), a three-time All-Northeast-10 Conference honoree, has been named captain of the 2019 Bentley University football team, head coach Bill Kavanaugh announced.

    The Bentley University Falcons are tied for fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference Football Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which was announced by the conference Wednesday. The Falcons, coming off a 4-6 season, were even with Southern Connecticut State in the middle of the nine-team conference, both with 40 points.

    Former Bentley University defensive end Paul Norris (North Attleboro), a 2015 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-America®, has been selected to attend the 2019 National Football Foundation Campbell Trophy® Summit, sponsored by Intuit, at Stanford University. The third annual event will be held August 14-17.
