WALTHAM, Mass. - Three student-athletes were awarded Bentley's top individual accolades for 2025-26 on Friday morning during the annual senior send-off celebration.
Director of Athletics
Vaughn Williams announced Cash McClure from the men's basketball team as the Edward J. Powers Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. Elizabeth Blinn from the volleyball team was named Bentley's Outstanding Female Senior Athlete and Michael Haikal from men's soccer is the Outstanding Male Senior Athlete.
The Powers Award, which has been presented annually since 1965 to Bentley's premier senior scholar-athlete, is named in honor of the late President of the Boston Garden who was an alumnus and trustee of what was then Bentley College.
McClure, a guard from Readfield, Maine who majored in economics-finance, had an outstanding four-year career at Bentley where he finished with 1,408 points, 647 rebounds and 331 assists.
His senior season saw him earn both first team All-Northeast 10 and NABC first team All-East District honors for the second straight year, as he helped lead the Falcons to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
McClure was the NE10 Sport Excellence Award winner for men's basketball, which is given to the top performing student-athlete in their respective sport. He also earned a place on the CSC Academic All-District team and the NE10 Academic All-Conference team, both for the third consecutive year.
Blinn, a middle blocker from Concord, New Hampshire led the volleyball team to its third straight East Region championship, in addition to the NE10 regular season and playoff championships.
Blinn became the program's first ever All-American when she was named to the AVCA third team. She was also first team All-Region, the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year, first team All-NE10 and the Most Outstanding Player of the NE10 Tournament.
Haikal captained the men's soccer team to a historic 2025 where they won the program's first NE10 regular season championship since 1995 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1975.
In the process, the midfielder from North Easton, Massachusetts earned a litany of major awards.
Among them, he was the NE10 Player of the Year, first team All-America (United Soccer Coaches), third team CSC Academic All-America and the Division II National Scholar Player of the Year (United Soccer Coaches).
