Six teams (football, men’s cross country, men’s indoor track, golf, men’s lacrosse, men’s outdoor track) received Team Academic Excellence awards from the Northeast-10 Conference for having the highest GPA in the conference in those sports. Men’s indoor track and outdoor track were recognized for the seventh straight year, and both football and men’s lacrosse were cited for the sixth time in the last seven years.

Each of Bentley’s varsity teams had a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2015-16 academic year, and 14 were at 3.3 or better.

27 Bentley student-athletes earned Academic All-Northeast-10 honors this past year with Keegan Hyland (men’s basketball) and Nicola Mancini (women’s swimming and diving) recipients of NE-10 Sports Excellence Awards in their respective sport.

Bentley led the Northeast-10 in number of student-athletes named to the Northeast-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll following both the fall and spring semesters, with 376 and 374, respectively. That equates to over three-quarters of the University’s student-athletes achieving a 3.0 GPA or better.

Bentley placed 22, the fourth most of any team, on the 2015-16 Academic All-Atlantic Hockey team. Included were four-year honorees Gabe Antoni, Matt Blomquist, Andrew Gladiuk and Tyler Krause.

16 members of the Bentley field hockey team were named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHA Division II National Academic Squad by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.  Five of the 16 were recognized for the fourth straight year: Kelsey Howard, Sally James, Katherine Kelley, Rebecca Moore and Meghan Talerman.

In swimming, both the men’s and women’s teams were named as Scholar All-America teams by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) following both the fall and spring semesters. Diver Nicola Mancini was cited as a Scholar All-America by the CSCAA.

Eleven members of the cross country teams received USTFCCCA All-Academic status for their performance in the regional and in the classroom: Erik Alatalo, Marianne Bartolotta, Kathyrn Burke, Ryan Cadorette, David Cooper, Tom Dean, Tara Dooley, Nik Haas, Courtney Loughnane, Julia Morena and Cody Murphy.

In addition, the USTFCCCA recognized both the men’s and women’s cross country teams with All-Academic recognition.

12 members of the tennis team qualified for Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete status by virtue of having a 3.50 GPA during 2015-16. In addition, the women’s team earned All-Academic honors from the ITA for having over a 3.20 GPA.

Nine members of the softball team received NFCA Scholar Athlete recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for having a GPA of at least 3.5 for the year. They are Jordan Ballantyne, Kelly Ferris, Casey Hutnyan, Kelsey Kennedy, Katelyn Lebreux, Morgan Mazone, Jill Raia, Natalie Tarantino and Chelsea Vena.

The baseball team earned an All-Academic award from the American Baseball Coaches Association for having over a 3.0 GPA.

Ninety Bentley student-athletes were recognized by the Division II Athletics Directors Association with Academic Achievement Awards for having a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better.
