INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After earning her fourth career All-America award with a sixth-place finish in the three-meter diving Wednesday night, Bentley University senior Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) closed out the season by finishing 22nd in the one-meter Friday night during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the Indiana University Natatorium.
Mancini never completely overcame a slow start and finished with a score of 409.75 points. She missed out on qualifying for the finals by about 40 points.
Mancini's best dive of the night was her fifth, an inward one-and-a-half somersault pike. She picked up 54.00 points on that one, on the strength of two eights, three 7.5's and two sevens.
Mancini, who sat out her junior year due to injury, is expected to return next winter for her final season of eligibility.
