Wilde, Walsh Represent Bentley in NCAA Pre-Qualfying Meet
MANSFIELD, Texas – Sophomore Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn.) and senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) represented Bentley University Tuesday when the NCAA Division II pre-qualifying diving meet was held at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium.
Wilde had the top showing of the two, placing 24th of 29 off the one-meter board with a six-dive score of 201.15. Her highest score came in her final dive of the competition, a 40.15 on a backwards one somersault, one-and-half twist.
Wilde also was 26th of 26 in the three-meter diving, with her score of 170.65 including a 39.90 on a forward one-and-a-half somersault with one twist.
Walsh, in his final event as a collegiate, was 24th of 26 in the men's one-meter, posting a score of 220.35. His best dive was an inward one-and-a-half somersault tuck, in which he amassed 46.20 points.
