WALTHAM, Mass. – Already off to a 3-0 start in Northeast-10 matches from the fall, Bentley University was voted second in the NE-10 Men's Tennis Preseason Poll, the league announced Wednesday.
The Falcons came in second with 69 points and one first-place vote. Merrimack College took the top spot in the poll with 81 points and nine first-place votes. The rest of the top five is comprised of Southern New Hampshire (65 points), Stonehill (56 points) and Adelphi (51 points).
Making up the remainder of the poll is Le Moyne (31 points), American International (29 points), Saint Michael's (28 points), Franklin Pierce and Saint Anselm (20 points each).
Bentley's status as a favorite in the conference is well deserved as they are 34-2 over the last three-plus seasons in NE-10 regular season matches. They won the 2010 and 2011 NE-10 titles and went to the conference finals in 2012, and have been to the NCAA Tournament four straight seasons.
Bentley resumes its season on February 21 against MIT.
