Syracuse, N.Y. – No. 4 ranked Le Moyne improved to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 NE10 with a 21-7 victory over visiting Bentley on Wednesday.
The Dolphins, a perennial NE10 powerhouse, led 5-1 after the 1st quarter and 11-1 at halftime.
Bentley's offense got into gear with three straight goals in the final 56 seconds of the 3rd quarter, scored by Joey Tesoriero (Huntington Station, N.Y./Half Hollow East), Kris Campbell (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and Logan Walsh (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newton), but they still trailed 15-5 going into the 4th quarter.
Sophomore attacker Timmy Day (Westfield, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen) scored two goals for Bentley in the 4th quarter.
Le Moyne's top goal scorers were senior Ryan Cosgrove and junior Riley Larson with three goals each. Junior Matt Hutchings had a game high five points on one goal and four assists.
Bentley goalie Mike Haggan (Braintree, Mass./BC High) made 11 saves against 26 shots faced.
Bentley (2-1, 0-1 NE10) is now off until March 23, when they host Saint Rose.
