Incoming Bentley Freshman Wins New Hampshire Junior Championship

WALTHAM, Mass. – Incoming Bentley University freshman Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./ Bishop Guertin HS) captured the New Hampshire Golf Association Junior Championship Thursday at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, N.H. Thursday.

Ethier, who has already qualified for the New Hampshire State Amateur and New Hampshire Open,  claimed the title with a 3 and 1 win over top-seeded Jack Brown. Both finalists play out of the Nashua Country Club.

It was Either's fourth match-play victory of the tournament, including a first-round match that took 22 holes to advance.

Last week, Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS), a rising junior, reached the quarterfinals of the Connecticut State Amateur. He shot a 73-72-145 to qualify for match play, and then won two matches to reach the final eight.
